While I was at the gym Tuesday, I had the "I dread this" moment while I was on the treadmill. I realized I was repeating the run Tues/Thurs/ Sat routine with a PiYo class or Yoga video here and there during marathon training. While it worked for that, I need to shake things up- but I'm scared! I want to start cross training and take fun classes, but I don't even know where to start. I think I'm going to bite the bullet and take the Zumba class at my gym that I'm always running during. That's got to be good for my core, right? We'll see. I'll let yall know how that goes or if I chicken out ;)

Expedition Everest is this weekend and all the official stuff you need to know is on the runDisney website. Including,
what looks like a new course map for the 5k! Last year, the scavenger
hunt and the 5k overlapped each other a ton causing a lot of
unnecessary congestion. It looks like they are looping the end of the 5k
in a different direction, so that doesn't happen again. RunDisney seems
to be listening to their guests when it comes to their events, which is
awesome. Now, let's talk about that pushed back time from 9 to 10pm :)
I'm so excited to hear about this year's race. If you're running it,
please send me the link to your blog, I'd love to read about it. Like I
said, this race has potential and it would be nice to go back for it one
day, but we decided TOT would make more sense this year.
What do you do to shake up your exercise routine/ ward off afternoon snack attacks?
I love cross training! I wish I could afford a membership at a bunch of different gyms so I could do a little of everything: spin, swim, yoga, crossfit, etc., but alas, I normally switch it up with a workout video or kick it on the elliptical. You know, until I win the lottery.
ReplyDeleteNice! Yea. When I win the lottery, first priority: a gym with a pool!
DeleteI have wanted to try Zumba and spinning for the longest time but I'm too scared!! It takes me a long time before I warm up to an idea and can actually do it. I really need to get back to the gym and do some cross-training. Mmm, I love tea in the afternoon!!
ReplyDeleteMe too! It's been over a year of me running on the treadmill and saying to myself "That class looks fun. I should do it one day", but the fact that it's always full intimidates me. I need more cross training, seriously.
DeleteIsn't afternoon tea amazing?!
Love a cup of tea around 2 or 3 pm. Usually take a quick walk and do the stairs in my building to perk me up too. Zumba is really fun. Not too sure what it does for my core but it sure does loosen up the hip action.
ReplyDeleteThat's an awesome idea! I'm not sure what Zumba does either, but it sure is fun!
