Dumbo Training week 3

MON: Rest

TUES: 2M and PiYo. My legs were still super sore from the race but once I got into it, they felt better. I think I need to switch up my minimalist shoes for now. My feet have been hurting me since getting back into things. I've already switched out my shoes. I think I just need more cushion to get my feet accustomed to being back in training.

WED: Rest

THURS: 2M and Zumba

FRI: Rest

SAT: Volunteered

SUN: My First ever Spin Class!*
hopefully, I'm leaving for it as soon as I post this. Wish me luck!

I know there is supposed to be a 3 miler in there, but Saturday's volunteer session left me completely wiped out. Between the 2 hours of sleep, the carrying of the barricades (hello, no upper body strength) and being on my feet outside in the height of allergy season for 4+ hours, I think it's safe to say I earned my Saturday on the couch.

Even though this week started out super sore (probably not the smartest idea to race someone like the first week of training), I did notice I wasn't as tired as I was in the previous ones. I'm hoping this is a sign my endurance is slowly coming back.

Congrats to all the BK Half marathoners and everyone who raced this weekend.
How was your weekend?

  1. Oh, let me know how spin goes! I've never done a spin class and to be honest they scare the heck out of me for some reason, but I really want to try it!

  3. Wondered if you had any thoughts on compression stuff. I just started training again ( such a slacker) and am doing my Saturday gradually increasing long runs with a group that is over an hour drive. By the time I get home I am nearly paralized. Not sure if they would help and hate to waste the money. Any thoughts?

    1. Totally not an expert, but I love mine for recovery and sitting for an hr after your long run can't be good. I would try it out- Pro Compression are my favs and you can always find a deal for 40% off- they have monthly color deals. email me if you need more help!

    1. I posted about it! But don't let it scare you away. I just don't think it's for me.

  5. My wife would love the Dumbo logo - pretty cute. Minimalist shoes are tough for me to wear, just not enough cushioning. But they're usually so light, which is nice.

    1. I love the Dumbo logo, too!

I think I need to add cushion because straight minimalist isn't cutting it anymore.

  6. You've definitely got me beat on the training for DDD. New Orleans heat has set back in, and I'm taking some time to get accustomed to it. How much did you love the spin class? The secret is finding a teacher you like that plays also music you enjoy and will keep you focused.

  7. I love spinning! It's about the only thing I miss with having a workout room at home and not having a gym membership.

I would love to have you join Fitness Friday! Link up and share your training post (or any post for that matter).
