3 Things.

1. Information about the 2014 Walt Disneyworld Marathon weekend has been leaked. Rumor has it, Dopey is being officially recognized as a challenge and a 10k has been added. Prices: $495 for Dopey and $160 for the 10k. Makes that ToT registration increase look like a steal now doesn't it? :) I wonder if runDisney has heard of the Naperville Marathon incident? They've also included a question regarding a possible Disneyland Paris race on one of their surveys. I'm interested to see how far this will go. Again, this is all total speculation. Where do you draw the line for race prices?

2. Lululemon recalled their black pants. I'm glad they're doing something about it. I'm a fan of their pants but not of the world getting to see what kind of underwear I'm wearing when I'm downward facing dog (PS- I just came to the realization that dogs actually do this. It's ok. I already know I'm slow). I found this post about how to get your refund quite humorous. . you know if it wasn't really happening. Having to bend over and have a sales rep decide if the pants qualify as sheer enough? Wowsers.

3. Thanks to Kickstarter and having more free time, I'm a season and a half deep into The Veronica Mars series. I figure, if they can raise over 2 million dollars in 11 hours, it might be worth it to watch the pilot. Anyone else a fan? Holy cowers, there are a lot of weird things this series touches on, but I cannot look away.

How's your Thursday?

  1. Let's discuss that the Dopey thing is crazy. Wonder if it's true. I found the Active.com page and the 10K price is currently listed at $95 on it, which is still a lot for a 10K but better the $160. I don't know if that active page is correct because registration for the Wine and Dine was $180, so I would be surprised if the WDW races were cheaper (plus that the half and full would be the same price). Guess we'll have to see!

    1. Right?! And I believe the official Dopey is the 10k (NOT the 5k) half and full. But to each is own :)

95? They must've updated it. Agree, but that's still insane. ToT's inaugural price was 90 and that's 4 more miles.

    2. Dude, totally agree. Although I was just talking with Pam about it and registration opens on 4/9 so I feel like they would have announced it by now. They announce the Dumbo Double Dare on 12/20 and registration opened 1/22 - a full month before hand. I feel like they need to give people time to decide.

    3. Apparently, another rumor is all of this is going to be announced ON opening day. . what?!

When they offer something like the Dumbo Challenge, then I might consider.

    4. That just seems insane. I can't believe they would not announce it earlier. Where did you hear that?

    5. On a fb group. . so I don't know if that one is too accurate.

    6. Interesting... Either way, I do not think I will be signing up for the Dopey so probably won't matter to me!

  2. WDW races are crazy expensive, but they sell out every year and I doubt enough people would "not" attend or prostest for them to make a change. Heck Jim and I just paid a $100 extra fee to do Chicago...sometimes if you want something you are just willing to do whatever to get it....ugh. I feel taken.

    1. You're so right, Michael.

Honestly, I'm sure if I had never run a Disney race before, I wouldn't care the cost either, i.e. I registered for Dumbo. I think I'm just coming out of my Disney haze. Welcome to the feeling I've had all day :(

Don't worry too much about it. I think it goes away after you cross the finish line!

  3. Looks like I might need a part time job to fund this new hobby. Amazed at the $100 luluemon pants and $500 for a race... wow
