WoW!

Some seriously good advice.

Honestly, when I saw these on other blogs, I would just glaze over and skip the post. I thought they were super boring, until I realized it wasn't for my viewing pleasure, but more for their accountability. That's why I started the weekly log for Dumbo training and it has definitely worked! Every time I just want to go home and lay on the couch (coughyesterdaycough), I remind myself I'm going to have to put that in the weekly training log on the internet. And the internet never forgets.

Do you have a training post? Why/ why not?

  1. Good idea! I always skip over those posts too and need to be better about holding myself accountable! The only way I get to early am yoga is when I pay in advance and post on facebook--guess the same rules apply for running. (Even though running is free!)

    1. I'm so bad about signing up for things advance, but that's an awesome idea!

  2. blogs definitely hold people accountable :) in a good way, of course! i don't post training schedules [usually] because while i like to stick to somewhat of a schedule, sometimes things come up and i like to be able to have a floating rest day as needed :)

    1. Me, too! That's why I like to do the post-week recap. As long as I get enough done, I'm ok with it.

  3. I always come straight home after a run and log my miles on DailyMile, and it populates to Facebook. People call me out when I haven't been running.

    1. I need to look into DailyMile, that seems like good motivation!

  4. I'm starting my training posts up again because I'm training for a half marathon and sending out my training log to my hood to coast teammates which definitely means I need to stay accountable. I think it's going to help a ton to keep me on track since I'm usually horrible at following training plans!

  5. I post in my FB group, on Daily Mile, and in my Running Ahead log. Oh, and my coach's log. So... um... yeah. I kinda like to be held accountable. LOL

  6. I don't have a training post, but I usually write about my runs in each post amongst the other topics of the day. It would be good to do the weekly plan ahead of time though.

    1. I used to do that, too! But I find putting it in one post really shows me what I'm actually doing vs. what I think I'm doing.

  7. I write a training post almost every day LOL. I think as I get more experienced, I will make it once a week, but for now, I like keeping track of my ups and downs, my victories and my challenges.

  8. I used to do a weekly training post but I got away from them. I really should go back to it since it is a great way to actually see what I've done!! Rather than what I thought I did. Ha!

  9. I think people would get exhausted if they called me out for all of the times I don't work out. ;)
