How is it already Thursday? This week flew by, but I'm not complaining. I think it's because my schedule got all crazy-changed, but that can also be a good thing, right? I am, however, complaining that I'm 99% sure I have lost my gym membership card and don't want to pay the $10 replacement fee. It's been a couple of weeks and I'm being stubborn because I don't want to believe I actually lost it. That and the fact that I only pay $20 a month for the membership as it is. $10? Seriously?! It's a piece of plastic! Oh, Corporate greed, I hate when you win.
A few weeks ago, I ordered the GRID foam roller because it was on groupon. I had been lusting after it for over a year, but our foam roller is pretty industrial as it is, so I didn't feel the need. Let me tell you- after using it for a week, I can definitely say- you have not foam rolled until you foam roll on this. Holy wowsers, guys. That is NO joke and I have the bruises to prove it. I feel like I need to name it- any ideas? What's a scary prison wife name?
Speaking of prison wifes, anyone else watching Orange is the new Black? It's a new Netflix series based on a memoir of Piper Kerman. It's about the 18 months she spends in jail for drug trafficking, one time ten years prior. Anyway, I read the book when it came out and I liked it, so I figured I'd give the show a try. Besides a few really big inaccuracies that won't matter to you if you didn't read the book, but drive me a little crazy, (SPOILER: she was already in prison when Martha Stewart got arrested, not after and she did not serve in the same prison as her ex- sadly, these are the 2 big distinctive things I remember about the book in general but hey I get it, more drama) it seems like a good show. I am only on episode 2, though. As long as they stay away from unnecessary violence, I'll be ok. It aired today and it's already been picked up for a second season. Plus, the theme song is Regina Spektor, which is pretty cool in my book.
What do you think about the new trend of web based series, ridiculous fines for losing your membership cards or foam rollers?

DeleteI want my prison wife's name to be "Bubba," but I don't know if that would apply. And Jason Biggs (from BITNO) was on "The View" yesterday morning. Talk about a High School "American Pie" flashback. I do want to see the show. He was still funny.

DeleteYea, Natasha Lyonne is also in the show. Along with Laura Prepon (from that 70s show). I binge watched 4 episodes and I really like it so far. You need to watch!
We love our Grids - we have two, and you're right, they're awesome and brutal all at the same time. Good luck with it. I would go with Spike or Carl for the name.

ReplyDeleteI have seen that roller recommend a lot lately! I'm bummed I didn't catch it on Groupon. :( I don't really need a new roller, but it looks better then the one I have.
