WoW: Training vs. Racing

On that note, just because there is a race every weekend, doesn't mean you should sign up for all of them. Please remind me of this next year. My bank account, mental health and legs will thank you :)

  1. Amen. Can we talk about the 5 different versions of the "Color Run" that seem to fly through the city once a month? Or the Zombie, Mud, Bad Prom (yes, that's real), Disco, etc runs that keep popping up? While I'm thrilled about the interest in running that has become so popular, I'm a little overwhelmed with the quantity. I don't know how much the market can bear. I've gotten so selective about what I can do, its frustrating when I miss one.

    1. I agree. Sadly, most of those races fall on really long run days that I can't justify an expensive 5k for, so that helps.

  2. LOL I totally hear you on that one. I love race it just seems to make the training more fun if I can incorporate a race into it. On that note, I did a training run way, way too fast this weekend. My legs have been hating me since Saturday :)

    1. I'm sorry to hear that, but I that's exactly what happens to me! I think, yay! course support, but I don't account for the racing mentality that comes to play. Hope you feel better!

  3. Thankfully my bank account can't fund all the races I want to do. If it could I would be doing a half pretty much every weekend in the fall & winter.

    1. It's the shorter races that are killing me. They're cheap but they add up quick!

  5. DO ALL THE RACES, ARRRRGGGGH!!! I want to do than ALL. But I'm too broke for that. I've been trying to take a "quality versus quantity" approach these days. So far, I'm doing better, but I'm still spending way more money than I should be.
