Hope everyone had a great holiday season and a great new year so far! It's been pretty low key around here. We cooked and movie marathoned for Christmas and hung out with friends in the neighborhood for New Years. Honestly, as much as I miss my family and love getting to visit, this extremely relaxing staycation was very much needed. I feel refreshed. Another goal for 2014: add some real vacations into the mix! (again, not a new concept, but if I keep repeating it, maybe it'll happen).
So, what's the next thing to start looking forward to?
Marathon weekend!
The only runDisney race (I believe) I didn't run in costume.
Who's going Dopey? As marathon weekend gets closer, I was a little concerned I would regret only registering for the 10k and not signing up for the half marathon. It's safe to say, I'm not! I'm actually really excited that I get to run a Disney race I've never run before (hence, inaugural, haha!), have a runDisney volunteer experience and then spectate all my friends going Dopey for the full marathon! It'll be a short and sweet trip that will get me ready for the real challenge, The Glass Slipper Challenge.
If you haven't already, you should check out my guest post over at The Digital Running Club and find out my Top 5 reasons to runDisney (as if you don't know them already ;)

And speaking of the rD: The 2014 New Balance special edition runDisney shoes were officially revealed today. Pink Minnie and Sorcerer Mickey are the new styles for the stability shoe. This year, they also added a neutral option with Cinderella and Goofy. All 4 of these, as well as a new children's line, are exclusive to the runDisney race expos. I'm a fan of the pink Minnie shoes, but I wish they came in neutral. New Balance also has a new system for purchasing the shoes (ie NOT standing in line for hours), so maybe they'll be more appealing for a later race?

I'm still lusting after the NYC Limited Edition NYC 890v4. If it has NYCM on it, I need it in my life apparently. I think I smell a birthday present?
I'm jealous of your relaxing staycation for Christmas. I stayed home, of course, but my immediate family loves here and I have divorced parents so that means rushing back and forth and trying to spend enough time at each place so no one gets their panties in a bunch!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your guest post. You really do have great costumes. I better get working on my GSC costumes. Not sure what I'm doing for that...
Sorry about all the running around, that's exactly how I feel about the holidays. I'm over it.
DeleteThanks, ma'am! Inspiration just struck for the 10k, but I'm going simple for the half.
You should totally get the NYCM shoes! I feel like it's a great way to commemorate such a big event! I'm sort of disappointed with the runDisney shoes, not that I really wanted/ needed a pair, but I don't really like any of them at all!
ReplyDeleteDo you know where you are volunteering yet??
I think I've bought close to everything possible to commemorate that I ran NYCM, haha!
DeleteI'll be in the finish line area (Whatever that means) for the Half marathon- come say hi if you see me!
I love that the special edition shoes are pink this time around! Cute! You're also going to love your volunteer experience. I volunteered at Disneyland Race Weekend and it was a busy shift but lots of fun. I have never met a more dedicated and perky group of volunteers!
