Pain in my glute.

Did you know the Disney 5K is now called "The Fiesta 5k featuring The Three Cabarellos"?

Guess who is trying to figure out how to pack a sombrero? Yes, and I believe I have successfully convinced Fly of our dressing in theme. I'm going to have to pack Fred's and throw it on him 2 seconds before the race but I'm ok with that; and who knows? Hopefully, it will be cool enough in Orlando to need the extra layer of poncho. I'm so happy about themes. And in true sorority girl fashion, I'm most excited about the pictures that are going to look amazing!

Flights are super cheap right now, but I need to get paid from my last freelance job before I can even think of booking it. Plus, I need my bus to DC and my Savannah flight first.
Speaking of, have you seen the fab medal?

This medal marks the end of The year of the Rock-n-Roll.

Where I will also earn this!

I am signed up for 2 already for next year, but that's it. Next year is supposed to be The year of the Disney. As much as I love the heavy medals, I'm actually looking forward to fancier ribbons.

And with the conclusion of this post, I think I must go to the gym as much as I have been procrastinating. I have this weird pain in my glut, though. Not a fan. But it is fun to say "You are a pain in my butt. No really, I'm in pain."

Hope everyone gets their workouts in today!

  1. I have already spent time staring at pictures to try to get an idea of what to wear! And I'm with you - it is all about the photos... Ole!

I can't decide what makes me laugh more - a HUGE sombrero, or a mini one. I know they have all sizes already for sale at Epcot. But seriously, how do we pack all of that?? I'll definitely keep you posted if I can round up any already IN Orlando for us! My mom has maracas. It's only a 5K. We are walking - I'm totally into annoying people by shaking my maracas!

Are you guys going to try to dress just like the characters? Or be more Project Runway about it and dress inspired by the characters? I know I am asking 1000 questions rather early, but I am going to land in Orlando 3 months from RIGHT NOW and I have no clue what to wear for ANY of the races yet! I have to get on it!

  2. Thank you sweet baby Jesus for the end of the Rock-N-Roll racing. I don't know how much more Cytomax I could stomach.

I'll totally wear a sombrero to the 5K as long as it has an adjustable strap for under the chin so it doesn't fly off.

Now go to the gym! I am going to do a little dance in celebration of getting to reply to a post before Ronda.Thank you sweet baby Jesus for the end of the Rock-N-Roll racing. I don't know how much more Cytomax I could stomach.

  5. Y'all are redonkulous.
I'm opting out of the gym but rocking yoga instead. It really hurts and I'd rather be a little under trained than hurt.

I was thinking dressing like the characters but I think inspiration will be better and by that I mean a sombrero and a poncho.
Which don't they sell rugs like that at ikea? We can just cut a hole for our heads. I'm liking the mini sombrero idea a lot. I can totally pack that. We can put ours on headbands and Fred's on a strap.
    What do yall think?

  6. I think mini is hysterical! Far sillier than big - and less annoying. Of course big would guarantee nobody crowds our space. But small would be so simple to pack. Heck, I'll be there early - I might just get mine in Epcot and then only have to worry about packing it home.

So I'm thinking I might find some green, red, yellow, orangish stuff to put together - and then top it off with a poncho - which I find absolutely hideous, which means I'll be all about take photos!! And then of course some maracas. I've never run with a prop before!

I'm going to keep staring at photos to get really inspired. Actually, I am going to the Halloween store in 15 minutes - I might find something there!!

  7. I think we have settled on mini-sombreros.
I think I'm going to stick with a white top and black bottoms, so all the insane colors are on the poncho, but who knows? I'm still working on my Halloween costume.

I was totally just at the Halloween store, dammit! Oh well. Next time!

And when are you getting to FL? I was looking at flights and they are super cheap. I was thinking Thursday.

  8. I get there Wednesday afternoon. I like to get there a tad early so I can try to adjust to the 3 hour time change.

This is going to be awesome! Fred is going to LOVE it and asked to be covered in even MORE than just a poncho and sombrero. I bet he tries to run carrying a pinata on a stick!

  9. That's a smart plan!

OMG. I nearly fell out picturing Fred running with a pinata! That's hysterical. . .and an awesome plan!

  10. What are you talking about? With all the candy I eat I basically am a piƱata. Sadly, no stick.
