First day of b2b training and survey says: It SUCKS. It felt like I had never run 6 miles in my life (even though I ran 6 the day before) I had to really dig deep for some inspiration. I was tired and mentally not in it but I did it.
Did I mention I did my 2nd leg of b2b running here:
It wasn't the smartest of moves. I know. I don't know what I was thinking. The weather was gorgeous for running. I think I need to build up to running in my parent's neighborhood, just like it took me 8 months to run in my own. . and I don't have that kind of time. So, I figured I'd run on the treadmill. I read somewhere on the internets that it makes you mentally stronger and I clearly needed that. But my god, it was not fun.
But I got through it! I really hate that I don't have enough time to properly train, but I will keep doing as much as I can before Jan. 5.
Hope everyone is having a fabulous holiday season!
Well ... at least we are getting through this together. We are insane. What the hell were were thinking with this brilliant 3 races in 3 days plan?? We are racing 29.3 miles! I've never even done that in a full week, let alone a weekend!
ReplyDeleteI trust it will be fun and exciting and the adrenaline will just push us through to that relay finish line!
We are insane.
ReplyDeleteand I agree, 29 miles in a week has never happened for me either.
IDK about the adrenaline part. I've been freaking out about the relay part. That's the race I will need support and I won't be running with anyone. But once we get through it, we will be major rockstars!
Maybe we'll get lucky and our relay partners will get to us around the same time. That would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteLet's pray for that! You tell yours to slow down and I'll tell mine to hurry up! We should run with phones that day to see if we're close enough to meet up. Haha!
ReplyDeleteI will have my phone for sure. And I figure we can hang out and keep warm together while we wait to run. I have no idea how that all works or how we know our partner is coming up. I figured I could sign up for runner tracking and get texts to my phone so I'd at least know when Brian starts, hits the 5K and the 10K mark.
